Organizing all your content on a busy WordPress site can be challenging, but with TaxoPress, you can make it easier by automatically adding categories to your posts. The Auto Terms feature in TaxoPress scans your WordPress posts and assigns categories based on your defined terms.
To use this feature, follow these steps:
- Install the TaxoPress plugin
- Go to TaxoPress > Auto Terms in your WordPress admin menu
- Choose the taxonomy you want to use with Auto Terms, such as “Categories.”
- Select the post types you want to use with the feature, such as “Posts.”
- In the “Terms to Use” setting, choose whether to use all the terms in your taxonomy or only a selected group. Keep in mind that using all the terms could slow your site if you have thousands of terms or a slow server.
- Click “Save Auto Terms.”
You can also use the “Existing content” option to add terms to your existing posts, or the “Auto Terms” feature to add Categories to new content. This process works with any post type and taxonomy on your site, including Tags.
Once you have added categories to your posts, you can make use of other TaxoPress features such as the Related Posts feature to show posts with similar categories or the Auto Links feature to add links to archive pages for these categories.
