The R product is designed for mathematical calculations and scientific computing, and is mainly used by specialized organizations. To facilitate the work of users with this language, a special program RStudio was developed.
In this article, we will talk about installing the R programming language and the RStudio program in a working environment running Windows.
Preparation
We go to the official website at the link below to download the distribution. The solution is cross-platform, but in the article we will talk about installation in a Windows environment:

Download the distribution from the link marked with a red arrow in the image. Next, select the base configuration and start the download.
Installation
After downloading, open the distribution folder and install the product. At the third step, a window with a choice of components will appear. It is recommended to select all items:
The next window is to change the standard settings of the program. Select “No”, click “Next”
We answer the trivial questions of the installer wizard and wait for the end.
Installing RStudio
Now let’s install the RStudio program by downloading it from the official site.
There are four versions to choose from. Download free for workstations. It has a minimal set of functions, but is suitable for testing and normal work:

Next, a list of distributions for different operating systems will appear. Download Windows-compatible product:

Run the downloaded file and follow the prompts of the wizard. There are no additional options, we leave everything by default.
First start
Open the RStudio program. Let’s conduct a small test – install the Rcmdr component. Click Packages and enter the name of the package in the search bar:

Click Install. The process will take 2-3 minutes. An alternative is to use the built-in terminal. To do this, in the left side of the workspace, enter the command:
install.packages('txtplot')
How to install components depends on the user. Both ways are working.
