Preparation
When creating a virtual server, you must select the “Add to domain” item. The server preparation time will increase by 20 minutes, but the solution will be connected in Active Directory:
After we connect to the server via RDP:
Download the file from the link, open it. Enter the username and password. They are available in the virtual server control panel:
Now let’s move on to the setup.
Configuring network settings
First, let’s set up the network. Open the properties of the network connection through the server control panel. Manually assign the IP address and other parameters. The exact values are indicated on the HostRooster website, in the server properties tab:
Important! In the “Alternative DNS server” field, enter the IP address of the domain controller.
Add to domain
The following steps assume that the administrator has configured a domain controller and added users. Open the control panel to change the workgroup to a domain:
In the window that opens, switch to the “Domain” line and enter its name:
After clicking OK, the system will ask for credentials. In the “Username” field, enter the value that is registered on the domain controller.
After confirmation, the operating system will require you to restart the server for the changes to take effect. We agree.
To connect to a server on a domain via RDP, enter the appropriate data:
Enter the username on the first line and the password on the second line. Click OK to connect. After a successful login, go to the “Control Panel”, section “Network Settings”. Check that the firewall is active.
