Matthew Mullenweg

American-born web designer and Matthew Charles Mullenweg was born on January 11, 1984. He has recently settled down in Houston. He is most known for creating WordPress, the most popular platform for creating and managing websites that is both free and open-source around the world. After failing out of college, he worked at CNET Networks from 2004 to 2006 before leaving to become the founder of Automattic, the parent company of, Akismet, Gravatar, VaultPress, IntenseDebate, Crowdsignal, and Tumblr. He served on the CNET Networks Advisory Board throughout his tenure there.
